Dr. Bethany Fishbein
Associate聽Research Director, Psychometrics & Data Analysis

Dr. Bethany Fishbein holds expertise in transitioning assessment programs to computer-based systems, including the psychometric聽methods for evaluating mode effects and adjusting measurement scales to account for mode differences. She plays a lead role in analyzing eAssessment process data, and is helping build capacity for integrating complex eAssessment data files into data processing and reporting flows. Dr. Fishbein works on creating and maintaining the 魅影直播 and PIRLS achievement trend scales and context scales and manages programming and data analysis work to monitor data quality. She helps coordinate and author publications, including peer-reviewed research studies, technical reports, and international results reports for the 魅影直播 and PIRLS studies. She also has experience in developing assessment instruments for cognitive and non-cognitive aspects of student learning.

Prior to joining the 魅影直播; PIRLS International Study Center in 2013, Dr. Fishbein gained experience in international comparative research as a research assistant at the College Board and completed two years of graduate coursework in the social sciences. She holds undergraduate degrees in mathematics and psychology from Syracuse University, and completed her doctoral degree in Measurement, Evaluation, Assessment, and Statistics (MESA) at Boston College鈥檚 Lynch School of Education.
